Youth arrested for uploading objectionable pictures on FB

Kolkata: A young boy has been arrested for uploading objectionable pictures of some eminent personalities on a social networking site.
Police said the accused formed a group on a social networking site around two years ago. Since the new group came into being, the accused used to upload memes relating to film stars and the page gained enough popularity. According to police, the group was named as "Specified Tarkata".
Many people started following the page. However, in the past few months the accused started uploading some objectionable pictures of renowned personalities. The city police was receiving complaints in this regard.
The accused has been identified as Manimoy Aich, who is a third year student of Physics in a South Kolkata college. He used to stay as a paying guest near Garia station. Police have seized his mobile phone and pen drive from his possession.
According to a police officer, the city police had received several complaints in this regard on its Facebook page. It was learnt that the accused used to upload pictures of great men like Rabindra Nath Tagore and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with some objectionable comments on the photographs.
After receiving the complaints, the cyber crime cell of Lalbazar started a thorough probe into the matter. The officers of the cyber crime cell examined the pages uploaded by the group admin. It was not easy for the investigators to identify the group admin. The cyber crime department officers managed to identify the group admin on Tuesday night.
