Woman, youth found dead inside car

Kolkata: Bodies of a youth and a woman were found in a semi-naked state inside a car parked in a garage on David Hare Road in Durgapur on Wednesday night. The youth was aged around 28 years and the woman was around 42-year-old.

On Wednesday, around 2 am, neighbours of the youth heard a car's engine was running inside the garage for quite a long time.

They knocked on the walls of the garage but no one responded. Since they were unable to understand what the matter was, some of them made a hole on the wall and found that the car was parked but its engine was running. However, they could not see any movement inside the car. They informed the police who broke open the garage door and found that the car engine was running and the youth and woman were lying in a semi-naked state.

The windows were shut and the AC was off. The youth and the woman were rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. A source said the youth had joined the Durgapur Steel Plant approximately eight months ago. The woman and her husband and daughter also lived at the same area. Her husband is an employee of West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services department and her daughter is pursuing an undergraduate course.

The woman went out of her home around 7 pm on Wednesday.

When she did not return home till night her husband tried finding her but he couldn't trace her. It is suspected that the youth and the woman died due to lack of oxygen as the AC was off and the windows of the car were shut. Sources informed that blood traces were found on the body of the youth. Both the bodies have been sent for autopsy. Sleuths are waiting for the report to know the cause of death.

According to local residents, the woman and youth were in a relationship and the husband knew about it. They even had arguments over the issue but the woman and the youth did not stop seeing each other.
