Woman molested in Metro

Kolkata: A 25-year-old youth was detained for allegedly molesting a 24-year-old woman while she was travelling on Kolkata Metro train on Tuesday. He was released after the woman refused to go to the local police station and lodge a complaint.

According to sources, the woman boarded the Metro train at Masterda Surya Sen

station and was going to Rabindra Sadan. Around 8.30 am, she dialed Metro Railway's Women Helpline Number — 9007041908 — and informed the officials that a youth was misbehaving with her.

While the woman deboarded the train at Netaji Bhavan station, the on-duty RPF staff nabbed the youth. Both the woman and the youth were brought to the station master's office.

However, the woman refused to go to the local police station and lodge a complaint. The youth was released after taking a declaration from him.
