Woman found dead at in-laws' house, husband arrested

Mystery shrouds the death of a woman whose body was found in the washroom of her in-laws' house at Baguiati on Thursday morning. The incident took place within one-and-a-half-month of her marriage.

Police said the victim Rinku Das was allegedly suffering from depression as she was being mentally tortured by her in-laws.

A police officer said after speaking to the victim's family members that her parents were informed by her in-laws on Thursday morning that she died after falling inside the toilet.inside the toilet.

Police arrested the victim's husband Gobinda Das on the basis of the complaint lodged by her family members and sent the body for autopsy.

Her family members claimed that the victim's in-laws used to malign her for her dark complexion and at the same time they also used to purposely find faults in her work.

The suspicion of the victim's parents rose when her in-laws claimed that she was well and there was nothing wrong with her when she got up this morning. The victim's parents claimed that if she was well how come she fell ill within a few minutes when she went to the washroom.

They alleged that Rinku was killed and then dumped inside the washroom to distract the cops. It was done to make everyone believe that she fell inside the washroom.

The victim's parents told the police that she often used to complain about the misbehavior of her in-laws. But they had asked the woman to try to settle the disputes with her in-laws and to try to adjust with them.

Police spoke to the victim's neighbours to know if anyone of them had heard her in-laws rebuking the woman.

A police officer said that they are waiting for the autopsy report which is quite crucial in this case.
