Wife found dead at in-laws' house, family files plaint

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a housewife who was declared brought dead by the doctors after being taken to NRS Medical College and Hospital.
The incident took place at Phool Bagan area on late Friday night triggering tension among the local residents. Police said that the victim, Rupali Das, a student of Class X got married to Manish Das, alias Sunny, around six months ago. Das, a resident Sri Krishna Das lane at Phoolbagan, works at a private company. They had a love marriage.
Victim's family members have alleged there is some foul play behind the death of the victim. They have also lodged a complaint at the local police station on the basis of which police have started a detailed investigation. Police are interrogating the victim's husband and her in-laws in this connection so far.
The local residents said that the victim was a good natured person and used to maintain a cordial relationship with the neighbours.
They said that at around 11.30 pm on Friday they found the victim lying on a bed with a bleeding nose. She was rushed to the NRS Medical College and Hospital where the doctors pronounced her brought dead. The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination and the police have been waiting for its report. The local people said that they did not hear about any quarrel between the couple. The victim's family members, however, alleged that the victim had been subjected to physical torture at her in-laws house. They also alleged that victim was taken to the hospital late. Her life could have been saved had she been taken to the hospital immediately after the incident. Police are yet to confirm if it was a case of suicide or there was any foul play in the incident.
