West Bengal Housing Board to sell off flats in five housing complexes

Kolkata: The West Bengal Housing Board will conduct lottery on July 3 and 10 to dispose of flats in five housing complexes to augment its revenue collection.

These housing complexes are Purbanha in Manicktola, Moonbeam and Starlit, Dr Subrata Moitra Memorial housing complex and Kalyaniya housing complex. These housing complexes have 230 flats. The response to buy flats in Krishnanagar and kalyani is not high while many applications have been deposited to buy flats in Manicktala and New Town.

Chandrima Bhattacharya, minister of state for Housing recently held a high-level meeting with the senior officials of the department where she asked the officials to expedite their work.

The flats under the higher income group scheme cover an area that vary anything between 1234 square feet to 1531 square feet. The price vary anything between Rs 76. 13 lakh and Rs 94.46 lakh.

There have been many applications of which 36 are valid and lottery will be held to select the buyers.

In Moonbeam apartment the built-up area of the flats vary anything between 717 square feet and 724 square feet. The flats have been built under the middle income group scheme. The lottery will beheld on July 10.

The flats at Starlit housing complex are meant for those coming from lower income group. The lottery will be held on July 10. It was learnt that be selling the flats in five housing complexes the Housing Board would earn Rs 35 crore.
