WBSEDCL wins 2 prestigious awards

Kolkata: West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has won two awards in two different categories in the prestigious IPPAI Power Awards held in Karnataka on October 28.

The award ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 18th Regulators and Policymakers Retreat 2017 in Karnataka's Belgaum. The state government owned enterprise has been adjudged winner in the category 'Utility achieving Electrification of un-electrified households' and the other award was the award for innovation. A press note issued by Biswarup Mukherjee, Additional General Manager, Corporate Communication Cell, WBSEDCL said that it has been adjudged as the best performer for its project "Innovation in Energy Storage-Energy storage through Hydro. The awards are recognition of WBSEDCL's endeavor to provide 24x7 quality power and better services to its over 1.78 crore consumers.
It may be mentioned that state Power department has performed exceptionally in the rural electrification works.
Bengal is the first state to complete the rural electrification works for which it had already earned national acclaim.
State power minister Sovandeb Chattopadhay said that the Chief Minister has promoted Bengal as Biswa Bangla. Under her instructions the power department like the others department have carried out various projects bringing recognition from various places.
The Power department has already bagged various awards. It will get many more in the days to come.
