WBSEDCL deploys 1,441 LT mobile vans

Kolkata: In order to ensure uninterrupted power supply and a better customer service the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL) have deployed around 1441 L.T. mobile vans. The main purpose of the move was to tackle any power disruption in the state. Similarly for HT maintenance, 711 mobile van have been deployed for emergencies. This year, till Maha Shasthi morning, WBSEDCL has provided 25,216 temporary puja connections to puja committees throughout
the state.
A press release issued by the WBSEDCL said that for temporary connections, an extra load of 325.64 MVA was met by the department.
The company has accumulated an amount of Rs. 11.94 crore on account of security deposit from the puja pandals. On Shasthi evening, the demand in WBSEDCL area was 6200 mW, including the additional load.
It may be mentioned here that state Power department had already instructed the district officials to ensure that in case of power cut the issue must be addressed within minimum possible time. There was also a standing instruction to the district power officers that if any incident of power failure is reported the officer must visit the spot immediately to take a stock of
the situation.
State power minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay held several meeting with the officials of the department asking them to take necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the upcoming festive season.
Meeting was held with representatives of different power production and distribution agencies such as the power grid, CESC, NTPC and DVC. The forthcoming festive season which continues practically till Christmas would see a hike in demand for power, and hence the department tried to ensure that there is no interruption in
supply of power.
