Uber joins hands with ER to help passengers get cabs from Howrah Station

Kolkata: Uber has announced a partnership with Eastern Railways to make it easier for riders to get a ride from Howrah Station.
Through this partnership, Uber aims to make it even more convenient and reliable for passengers to get an Uber at the railway station, making travel seamless and hassle-free. Uber will set up booking zones at the station, where even those who do not have the app, will be able to book a ride.
There will be a dedicated pick-up zone outside the railway terminal, with on-ground assistance to guide passengers to their car for pick-up.
The Uber app will also enable passengers to get specific pick-up instructions to reach their Uber driver.
This feature will further help optimise the pick-up experience for both passengers and drivers.
Passengers at the railway terminal will be able to book an Uber from designated kiosks at the Uber parking zone.
Uber driver-partners will have dedicated parking spaces to make pick-ups more convenient. This will also make ETAs shorter for passengers.
"We are encouraged by this collaborative step from Eastern Railways, that enables passengers at Howrah Station Kolkata to experience the convenience and reliability of Uber. We have already executed several partnerships with public transit agencies in India, very recently at the Kolkata Airport and have been effective in becoming a reliable first and last mile connectivity solution," said Arpit Mundra, General Manager of Uber in Kolkata.
