Two youth try to loot ATM, arrested

Kolkata: Two youth were arrested from Tiljala area on Wednesday morning on charges of attempting to break open an ATM to decamp with the cash.

Police said the youth - Sk Aman and Sk Sajid - was arrested by a patrolling team. The team has recovered a screw driver, a saw and a hammer from them.

A firearm and bullets were also recovered from their possession.

A case has been initiated with Tiljala police station in this connection.

However, nothing was stolen from the ATM counter and their attempt was foiled by alert on-duty policemen.

It may be recalled that a similar attempt was made at Suri in Birbhum, a few days ago, where unidentified miscreants attempted to decamp with money by breaking an ATM.
