Two including former KMDA deputy director held in land graft case

Kolkata: Two persons, including a retired deputy director of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), were arrested in Bidhannagar South on charges of cheating, by taking lease of a government plot. Police said that one Sunil Gadia (45), director of Axon Marketing Private Limited and the retired deputy director, Alok Chatterjee (66), were arrested and they were booked under several sections of the Indian penal Code (IPC). The accused were found involved in fraudulent activities, to take lease of a plot at JC 22 at Salt Lake Sector III. Preliminary investigation has revealed that they had chalked out an elaborate plan prior to committing the crime. The police will be interrogating the duo to know whether any more people are involved in the case. They came to know after preliminary investigation that an initiative had been taken to create some fake documents.
