Two brothers held for honour killing attempt on gym trainer

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday said that they have arrested two brothers from Gurugram who are involved in an attempt of honour killing case in Uttam Nagar area.

The interrogation of the accused revealed that his sister got married to a person against the wishes of their family and the society for which they opted to take revenge. Police identified the accused as Neeraj (32) and Nitin (28) both natives of Hastsaal Village. Both are brothers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Deo said that on May 15 a PCR call of firing was received at Uttam Nagar police station, it was found that the injured was shifted to hospital, subsequently, another call was also received from the hospital that an injured has been admitted.

DCP Deo further added that the injured (gym trainer) is also resident of Hastsal Village. He stated that on May 14 at about 10 PM while he was passing a gym in Lal Chowk, along with his friends, he met one person and started talking to him, the elder brother of his wife, was also nearby.

"Suddenly his wife's younger brother came on a motorcycle and pulled out his pistol. The victim tried to flee from the spot after allegedly fired on him and the bullet hit in his right hand and he fell down on the spot," police said.

Both alleged brothers started hitting the victim shouting "shoot him in the head". When the crowd started gathering at the spot, both the accused fled away. The DCP further said that on May 16, constable Sandeep from Inter-State Cell (Crime Branch) received information regarding the alleged persons are coming to Gurugram.

The team departed to Gurugram bus stand, where they were nabbed. The Delhi Police in their press statement said that during the course of interrogation the accused persons Neeraj and Nitin revealed that his sister got married to a victim against the wishes of their family and the society. The accused Nitin has done MA.
