Two arrested for stealing three phones near Nimtala

Kolkata: The detective department of the Kolkata Police apprehended two persons in connection with the theft of three smart phones from a car that was stationed near Bhootnath temple adjacent to Nimtala Cremation Ground.
"Acting on the basis of a credible source information, we have arrested Raja Choudhury(20) of 67/10 Strand Road, of Jorabagan area and Ranjit Kumar alias Mota (19) of 67/10 Strand Road from their respective residential areas. The duo were taken to Bankshal Court on Thursday and was remanded to police custody till October 13." Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vishal Garg said.
The police acted on the complaint of Sandeep Raj of Survey Park area who had lodged a complaint with Jorabagan police station on September 9. He had kept his 3 mobile phones an iPhone and two smart phones of reputed brands inside the car, and went to the cremation ghat near Bhutnath Temple parking the car near Nimtala Immersion Ghat on Strand Bank Road. When he returned he found that all the three phones were stolen from
the car. The sleuths recovered the two stolen smartphones from the possession of the duo. Search for the iPhone is on.
