TV actor molested near Bijoygarh

Kolkata: A television actor was allegedly molested by a biker while she was going to a cafe on Sunday evening. The incident occurred near Bijoygarh area under Jadavpur police station. The actor has narrated the entire incident by posting a video on her Facebook page.

According to her complaint, she had returned from a shoot late in the afternoon and after taking rest for a while at her residence, she was going to a café when a person riding a motorcycle passed by her and allegedly touched her private parts.

She immediately raised a cry but the offender managed to flee. She has stated that the youth was wearing a white t-shirt with green stripes, while the colour of the motorcycle was black with red stripes. The victim, however, has not been able to inform the police about the exact number of the motorcycle.

The actor is presently acting in a popular TV serial named Mahapith Tarapith, which is aired on a Bengali entertainment channel.

She further said that some local youths rushed to her aid soon after she raised a cry and took her to Jadavpur police station, where she lodged an official complaint.

"We have started an investigation and have already fixed up 250 such motorcycles on the basis of the description of colour provided by the complainant. We hope to fix up the offender soon," said Murlidhar Sharma, Joint Commissioner (Crime), Kolkata Police.
