Tripurari Atharv takes over as new CP of Siliguri

Kolkata: The state government on Thursday appointed Tripurari Atharv as the new Commissioner of Police of Siliguri Police Commissionerate.

He was posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP), IB (Border), in West Bengal Police.

Atharv replaces Dr Bharat Lal Meena, who was made the DIG Burdwan Range, in a notification issued by the state government in this regard.

Tamal Basu, who was the IGP Railways, would be the new IGP, IB (Border), replacing Atharv, the notification said.

Meanwhile, Basab Dasgupta, the IG-II (Border) IB, would take the place of Basu whereas Dr Tanmay Ray Chaudhuri, who has been replaced by Meena, was made the DIG Traffic of West Bengal Police, according to the notification.
