Trinamool holds meet to settle Bhangar power grid row

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress held a meeting at Bhangar on Sunday to make people realise that the state government is ready to find a way out through discussion over the issue of setting up the power grid sub-station.
Abdur Rejjak Mollah, MLA from Bhangar and the state Food Processing and Horticulture minister, said in the meeting that the power grid sub-station will be set up in Bhangar after a discus- sion.
He also set a time period of a month, within which the solution is expected to come, so that construction work of the power grid sub-station can be completed as early as possible.
It may be mentioned that the situation had once again turned tense in Bhangar a week ago over setting up the power grid sub-station.
Involvement of outsiders, including activists of CPI-ML (Red Star) also came to light.
The police have also arrested some members of the organisation when they were coming from Assam to attend a rally at Bhangar, with an alleged intention to ensure that the situation in the area deteriorates further.
On Sunday, Mollah said that around 6 lakh people stay in Bhangar and only a handful are creating trouble in the name of a movement.
He further said it cannot be accepted that a large section will get affected only for a handful of people.
It is expected that all will reach a solution within a month and the power grid sub-station will start functioning in Bhangar soon.
