Trains cancelled due to non-interlocking work

Kolkata: Eastern Railway has announced full and partial cancellation of certain trains and diversion of few others due to non-interlocking work.

Udyan Abha Toofan Express will remain cancelled in the first week of September.

"Udyan Abha Toofan Express leaving Howrah on 04.09.2019 and 05.09.2019 and Udyan Abha Toofan Express leaving Sriganganagar on 06.09.2019 and 07.09.2019 will be cancelled due to non-interlocking work at Ballabgarh station on Tughlakabad-Palwal section over Northern Railway system," read a press release issued by the Eastern Railway.

The release further pointed out that the Udyan Abha Toofan Express will not stop at Ballabgarh station from September 1 to September 4/ September 6 to September 7, 2019 due to closure of third line and down loop line at Ballabgarh station. In a bid to commission second passenger line between Lake Garden and New Alipore station for faster and smoother train movement, non-interlocking work will start on August 30 midnight and continue till September 2 (6 am).

Power block will be imposed between Ballygunge and Majerhat stations on Ballygunge-Budge Budge section.

"There will be some delay in train running during the block period," pointed the press release.
