TMCP leaders of Panihati school complain against principal

Kolkata: TMCP leaders at Panihati Mahavidyalaya lodged a complaint with the local MLA Nirmal Ghosh, who also happens to be chief whip of the TMC in the Assembly, against the principal of the college for his alleged irregularities.
The leaders also staged a demonstration outside the college campus alleging that the principal of the college, Mukti Ganguly has been involved in some financial irregularities.
They also alleged that Ganguly is solely responsible for a dip in the standard of education in the college as a result of which the number of total students has reduced to 300 from what stood to be around 1,200 four years ago. The TMCP leaders staged a protest demonstration demanding the removal of the college principal for her alleged involvement in irregularities.
They also raised the matter with Ghosh. They informed Ghosh about how the college has degraded during her tenure as a principal.
There was a fall in the standard of education.
The general secretary of the college union Rima Barua said the agitation would continue until the 'corrupted' principal is removed. It was also alleged that the principal refused to give concessions to the students and outsiders could enter the college gym and perform illegal activities due to the tacit support of the principal.
Basu also alleged that Ganguly has links with some BJP leaders. The students' agitation, has sparked tension in the area. When asked about the matter, Ghosh said the students have raised their protests against the alleged irregularities of the college principal.
