TMC workers shot with arrows, land in hospital

Kolkata: Two Trinamool workers were reportedly shot with arrows at Keshpur in West Midnapore on Saturday night. It is alleged that BJP supporters and workers had attacked the Trinamool workers.

According to sources, on Saturday night, Trinamool workers identified as Sanjit Nayak and Sahabuddin Ali were returning home from the party office on a bike after finishing the day's work regarding the Lok Sabha elections.

Near Maharajpur of Anandapur under Keshpur block 2, some miscreants shot arrows aiming at them. The arrows hit Nayak on his back and Ali on his leg.

As a result, they lost control over the bike and fell on the road.

Hearing them scream, locals ran to them and saw Nayak and Ali were bleeding. Immediately, both of them were rushed to Midnapore Medical College and Hospital. Anandapur police station was also informed.

Late on Saturday night, Nayak and Ali were shifted to SSKM Hospital after they were provided first aid.

Midnapore district Trinamool alleged that BJP-backed goons were behind this attack. To spread terror in the area, BJP is attacking Trinamool workers. But, the BJP denied the allegations. A case has been initiated at the Anandapur police station.

Till Sunday night, no one could be nabbed. Significantly, former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh, who had joined the BJP a few months ago, allegedly threatened Trinamool workers during her visit to Anandapur on Saturday.
