TMC woman Councillor's hanging body recovered

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a woman Councillor of South Dum Dum Municipality on Sunday morning.
Sanchita Dutta's body was recovered from her residence at SK Deb Road under Laketown police station.
Dutta was the Councillor of ward 32 of the civic body.
"We have started an unnatural death case. No suicide note has been recovered. There has been no complaints from any side," a senior police officer of Bidhannagar police Commissionerate said.
Locals informed that the victim's husband Krishnapada Dutta and her two sons were away when the incident occurred.
The younger son returned home and found the door bolted from inside. He called up his father.
The family members, along with the neighbours, broke open the door and found her body hanging from the ceiling with a dupatta tied around her neck.
They took her to RG Kar Medical College Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The police was soon informed who came to the spot and examined the place of occurrence.
"Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the real cause of death," a senior police officer said.
A sense of gloom has descended in the area as Dutta was very popular in the area. "She had become the Councillor for the first time and would always try to support us in times of need. We have not seen anything unusual in her behavior," Bibhas Dutta, a local resident said.
