TMC will gain control of Kultali, says Sovan

Kolkata: Mayor Sovan Chatterjee claimed on Saturday that the Trinamool Congress will take control of Kultali in South 24 Parganas in the Panchayat elections next year.
"In the forthcoming Panchayat elections, the hammer and sickle of the Left will lose its relevance and the lotus of the BJP will also not bloom. Trinamool Congress will start gaining control of Kultali from the panchayat," Chatterjee, who happens to be the president of the South 24 Parganas unit of the party, said at Jamtolla High School ground in a political rally at Kultali.
Chatterjee was vocal against the BJP alleging that they have been trying desperately to spread canards against the Trinamool Congress.
It may be mentioned that the TMC had lost Kultali in the Assembly elections in 2016 to the Left Front. It is one of the few places in the state where the TMC has not been able to make much inroads. Party supremo Mamata Banerjee has instructed her party leaders to focus on Kultali for the forthcoming Panchayat elections in the area.
