TMC sabhapati stabbed to death

Kolkata: Sofiar Rahman, Sabhapati of Taldi-Beliaghata, was stabbed to death at Sasan in North 24-Parganas on Wednesday evening while taking part in a victory march to celebrate a TMC candidate's uncontested win from the Gram Panchayat.
The miscreant was caught by the others who beat him to death.
The Trinamool Congress has won uncontested in several areas, similar to that of Taldi-Beliaghata Gram Panchayat and it was decided that a victory procession on Wednesday evening would be taken out. Besides the party workers and supporters, a large number of people from the area also took part. The situation turned worse when the procession reached Taki Road. The miscreant attacked the anchal sabhapati all of a sudden and before anyone could react, the miscreant stabbed him repeatedly in his stomach.
Everyone was spellbound for a few seconds finding the party leader falling on the ground and he was bleeding profusely.
The miscreant attempted to flee but was caught by others who were present at the spot and they started beating him up.
The Trinamool Congress workers rushed Rahman to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police took the miscreant to the hospital where he was also declared brought dead.
A probe in this connection has been initiated and eyewitnesses are being questioned as well. The cops are trying to find out whether anyone else is involved in the incident.
Jyotipriya Mallick, the party's president of the district, alleged that other political parties are behind the incident. He said that the party is trying to create tension as they cannot fight politically and they know that the masses are not with them.
