TMC leader Abdul Mannan Hossain passes away

Kolkata: Senior Trinamool Congress leader and former MP from Murshidabad Abdul Mannan Hossain died at a private hospital in the city on Tuesday following prolonged suffering. He was 65. He is survived by two wives, two sons and two daughters. He was an MP of the Congress party for two terms from 2004-2014. Earlier he was an MLA of Congress from 1987. He joined Trinamool Congress in the year 2014 after he had a difference in opinion with the Congress's state leadership. His son Shamik Hossain said that he had some age related ailments and was admitted to the hospital. According to sources, he had been suffering from kidney related ailments for a long time. Both of his kidneys were damaged. He had kidney transplantation at the private hospital three months ago. He was recovering but few weeks ago his condition started deteriorating further. He was kept at the Critical Care Unit. From Tuesday morning he complained of respiratory distress and later died in the afternoon.
