TMC core committee meet on Sept 8

Kolkata: The core committee meeting of Trinamool Congress will be held at Kalighat on September 8.
Triamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee will be present at the meeting. The last meeting of the core committee was held in May.
Party insiders said that there may be discussion on the organisation of the party before the Panchayat election which is scheduled to be held in 2018. Banerjee has expressed satisfaction over the party's great success in the election in the seven civic bodies. Out of 148 seats in seven municipalities, TMC candidates had bagged 140 seats. Congress and CPI(M) candidates did not get any seat and Forward Bloc got only one seat.
The party is on the process of selecting the different functionaries to run the civic bodies. She has already instructed party leaders and workers to get in touch with people. The party will hold meetings in every block where the leaders will make people aware of various schemes taken up by the state government and which have benefited them immensely.
Banerjee has said over and again that BJP is trying to create communal riots in Bengal and the party is very critical about the state government's decision to not allow Durga Puja immersion on the day of Muharram.
The party supremo is likely to give instructions to the leaders to intensify their vigil during the festive season.
Banerjee has already asked the leaders to use the social media to reply to the canard spread by BJP. She has even asked the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad members at the meeting which was held to celebrate its foundation day on August 28 to use social media and oppose false news and canard against the state government and Trinamool Congress. Banerjee is likely to ask the leaders to go to their constituencies during the festive season and build mass contact.
