Three including student killed in mishaps


Kolkata: Two persons were killed in a road accident after a private car collided with a bus after it was hit by a speeding truck on Friday morning at Kolaghat in East Midnapore.

In another incident, a school student was killed in Bolpur after she was hit by a bus.

According to local residents, on Friday morning, a few persons, including a child were going towards Kharagpur riding a car.

Near Deulia Bazar area, a truck driving dangerously hit the car on its back at a high speed. As a result, driver of the private car lost control over the car and rammed into a bus in front of it and got wedged under the bus.

Seeing the accident people rushed to the spot and started rescuing the injured. Kolaghat police station was also informed. But before police could rescue all of them, two persons reportedly died on the spot. Rest, including a child has been admitted at a local hospital. Till Friday night their identities could not be established.

In another incident a school student identified as Ankita Pal died after a bus hit the cycle which her mother was riding.

He mother Piu was riding the cycle. Locals alleged that the driver of the bus was driving dangerously and recklessly. Near Jambani in Bolpur, the bus hit the cycle from

behind. As a result, Piu and Ankita fell on the road and the wheels of the bus went crushed Ankita. Later agitated people set the bus on fire. Immediately fire brigade went to the spot and put out the fire within a short period of time.
