Three incidents of fire reported, none injured

Kolkata: Three incidents of fire took place in the city and one in South 24-Parganas in the past 24 hours.
A fire broke out at a leather workshop at Tiljala on Wednesday night.
Police said four fire tenders were pressed into service and fire fighters took around two hours to douse the flames.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained but officers of the Fire and Emergency Services department suspect that an electric short circuit might have been the reason behind the fire.
A fire broke out at a fair price shop in Beliaghata on Thursday night.
Five fire tenders were pressed into service and fire fighters took around three hours to extinguish the fire.
Locals saw smoke billowing out of the tiled roof shop and dialed 100. Police passed the information to the state Fire and Emergency Services department.
Fire fighters immediately went to the spot and initiated the work to douse the flames.
The fire fighters are yet to ascertain the exact reason behind the fire and the total extend of damage due to the fire is also yet to be ascertained.
Another incident of fire took place in the factory of a confectionary at Bhowanipore on Thursday early morning.
One fire tender was pressed into service and the flames were extinguished.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a godown and adjacent houses at Santoshpur in South 24-Parganas on Wednesday night.
Six fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. The fire fighters took around three hours to extinguish the fire.
Police came to know from locals, who witnessed the incident, that the fire broke out at around 11 pm on Wednesday.
The locals initiated the work to douse the flames. Later, fire fighters reached the spot and initiated the work to extinguish as early as possible.
The fire initially broke out at the godown and it spread fast to the adjacent houses.
There were around six houses those were gutted. The incident led to huge damage.
