Three human traffickers arrested

Kolkata: The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police on Thursday arrested three human traffickers at Sealdah station car parking area on Thursday afternoon.

The trio, according to a senior official of STF, have been engaged in a racket for arranging illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals through Indo-Bangladesh border at Petrapole. "They were involved in arranging smooth passage of Bangladeshi nationals from Petrapole border to Kolkata for money," the official said.

Along with the three, STF sleuths also apprehended six Bangladeshi immigrants. The three have been identified as Madhab Mahajan(49) of Digberia under Madhyagram police station, Nayeb Molla (35) of village Khalidpur, Petrapol, and Santosh Kumar Chaki(27) of Bongaon.

A case has been initiated at Entally police station under section 14A and14C Foreigner's Act.
