Three daily wage labourers found dead in septic tank

Mystery shrouds the death of three persons, whose bodies were found inside a septic tank in an under-construction building at Nabadwip on Friday morning.
Police said all the victims – Santu Debnath, Krishna Halder and an unidentified person - were daily wage labourers and they were engaged to work for the construction of the building.
This morning, some other workers of the building found three of them lying inside the septic tank in an unconscious state.
They informed others and local people. Everyone rushed to the spot and contacted the police.
Policemen from the local police station went to the
spot and took all three of them to the hospital where they were declared brought dead. The bodies were sent for an autopsy.
A police officer said that the preliminary investigation revealed that one of the three victims had entered the septic tank to plaster the wall of the tank while two others were standing outside to supply materials. Police suspect that the second person had entered into the tank after the first one had fallen ill.
"It seems there was some sort of poisonous gas inside the tank for which the first person had fallen ill. Two others had entered into the tank to save the person and they also fell unconscious after inhaling the poisonous gas," he said.
After speaking to the doctors, police are suspecting that excessive inhalation of
some poisonous gas might have led to the death of the
three people.
The police have questioned other workers in the under construction-building. The police have initiated a probe in this connection and are trying to find out whether there was any foul play behind the death of the three persons.
The police have also
contacted family members of the two persons and they
are trying to identify the
third person.
