Three arrested for duping people on pretext of jobs

Kolkata: Police arrested three persons from Salt Lake on charges of duping job aspirants after taking a huge amount of money for them on account of helping them get government jobs. Police said the accused are Bichitro Mondal (45) who is a resident of Sherpur at Raigaung in Uttar Dinajpur, Sera Mitra (26) alias Rohit of Beliatore in Bankura and Shibsankar Mitra (43), who is a resident of Anandapolly Mahamayatala at Sonarpur in South 24-Parganas.
The police had initiated a probe on the basis of a complaint lodged with Bidhannagar East Police Station by one of the victims, Achinta Barman. He was told that Bichitro can help him get an appointment letter of a job as Group D employment in West Bengal School Service Commission.
The accused had taken Rs 10 lakh from the complainant in phases. It was in February when Bichitro had taken Rs 8 lakh from him and later had given Rs 1 lakh in the second and third phase. The complainant was asked to come in front of a government office in Salt Lake where he was told that an interview will take place. The other two accused came out of the and were introduced to the complainant by Bichitro as government officials who will be taking his interview. The complainant's suspicion rose when he was asked to leave after a couple of irrelevant questions and he filed a complaint.
