Threat poster put up on TMC leader's door in Birati

Kolkata: Within just 24 hours of Trinamool leader Nirmal Kundu's murder, a threat poster was pasted on another Trinamool leader's house. On Wednesday morning, Trinamool leader Nirmal Bala found that someone had pasted a hand-written poster containing a death threat on the door of his house.

Bala, who is a resident of South Pratapgarh in Birati, is a ward president of Trinamool in the area. During the Lok Sabha elections, he had played a crucial role in Trinamool's victory in the area.

On Wednesday morning, some local residents saw a hand-written poster pasted on the door of Bala's house. A few of his neighbours read the poster and informed Bala.

In the poster it was written that his head will be severed as Bala is a Trinamool leader and worker and that more are to face such consequences. The name of BJP and 'Jai Shri Ram' was written at the end.

The poster read: "Trinamool korchhis Nirmal Bala, tor mundu kete football khelbo. Aaro oneke achhe. Jai Shri Ram, BJP zindabad."

Immediately, Bala informed Nimta police station about the poster. Later, police removed the threat poster from Bala's house. A probe has been initiated.

Local Trinamool leaders alleged that after losing in Dum Dum, BJP is trying to create terror in the area and thus they are sparking violence and attacking Trinamool leaders and workers. BJP, however, has denied the allegations and claimed it to be a plan to malign them.
