This Puja, indulge in adda at Eco Park

Kolkata: Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) will organise a unique adda time at Eco Park from Sasthi to Nabami to celebrate Durja Puja in a cerebral way.
There will be an adda zone where people can come and join between 3 pm and 7 pm. The purpose is to revive adda which was once a part of Bengal's cultural life. From ordinary people to top intellectuals, people in Bengal used to take part in regular adda sessions and many anecdotes are associated with the addas which had been attended by well known people. Scientist Satyen Bose was a frequent visitor to the adda organised by Sajanikanta Das in the office of Shanibarer Chithi.
Gajendra Kumar Mitra and Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay used to take part in long adda sessions.
There will be food stalls at Eco Park. The adda session has been arranged in such a way so that participants can join the session after lunch and
after the session is over, they can follow their own schedule which includes pandal-hopping and visiting important community pujas.
There will be an LED screen at Eco Park where the visitors can have a glance of the Pujas that are being organised in different parts of the city and districts. To give the ambience of Puja, conch shells will be blown by women which will be followed by dhaks being plays along with arati and songs by bands.
New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) will organise a contest to award the best dance performer with dhunchi.
Dhakis in colourful attires on Tuesday played dhak at New Town to welcome guests who return home during the Pujas. Again, dhak will be played from Chaturthi to Sasthi to welcome guests at four important intersections.
New Town has been brightly illuminated and an added attraction will be the sculpture garden which will be inaugurated by minister for Urban Development Firhad Hakim on Wednesday and the brightly lit up replica of the Seven Wonders of the World.
