Keya Barui (45), a resident of Ranaghat was admitted to the hospital after she complained of chest pain.
The family members of the victim alleged that the patient was left unattended by the doctors at the hospital.
She was shifted to the ICCU of the hospital after being kept unattended for more than three hours. Few minutes after the patient was put in the ICCU, she died.
The relatives of the deceased started staging a demonstration inside the hospital campus.
Some of the staff members tried to pacify the mob but failed. A heated altercation broke out between the family members of the deceased and the hospital staff members.
As the situation was going beyond control, the hospital authorities informed the matter to the local police station.
After being informed, police reached the spot and dispersed the mob from the hospital.
A relative of the deceased said that they had urged the hospital staff members to attend to the patient but she was kept unattended by the doctors.
The family members also urged the hospital authorities to transfer the patient to some other hospital if they have any infrastructural lapses. But nothing was communicated to them, a family member has alleged.
The patient was taken to the ICCU when she virtually collapsed, alleged her family members. The family members have lodged a complaint with the hospital superintendent urging him to look into the matter.
