Technical work at Belgachia to slow down Metro services

Kolkata: Kolkata Metro Railway services are expected to be slow due to replacement work of high-speed circuit breakers of traction sub-station at Belgachia station.

"Due to the replacement work of high-speed circuit breakers of traction sub-station at Belgachia station, restrictions in train operation will come into effect in between September 6/7 to September 15/16, 2019," read a press release issued by Kolkata Metro Railway.

Meanwhile, additional security arrangements will be made for crowd management at Dum Dum station during that period.

"Not more than two trains will be allowed in the Dum Dum-Shyambazar section on both Up and Down direction during commercial hours in that period," a Metro official pointed out.

Ensuring better services to shoppers before the forthcoming Durga Puja, Kolkata Metro Railway has also decided to run special pre-Puja services on Saturdays and Sundays.

At present, 236 trains run on Saturdays, while 124 trains run on Sundays. There are 284 services including Up and Down trains between Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash stations. The number of services between Dum Dum and Noapara has been increased to 107 from 104.
