Tamang resigns from post of GTA chairman

Darjeeling: Binay Tamang, chairman of the GTA Board of Administrators, has tendered his resignation from the post. Following the acceptance of his resignation, Anit Thapa, the vice-chairman, will now officiate as chairman, stated GTA in an order signed by the Principal Secretary, Home and Hill Affairs department.

The order states that Tamang has tendered his resignation in order to contest the by-election from Darjeeling Assembly constituency.

"…Now, therefore, the Governor is pleased to accept the resignation tendered by Binay Tamang vide his letter dated 24.04.2019 from the post of chairman of the said caretaking authority of GTA," stated the order.
