Taltala: Sex racket busted, 5 arrested

Kolkata: Another sex racket in the name of a spa was busted on Friday night at Taltala area on S N Banerjee Road. Five persons, including two customers, have been arrested. Four girls were also rescued who had been brought there for flesh trade.

According to sources, since last few days, police were getting information about some illegal activity going on at 'Mind and Body Spa'. Based on the information, officials of Anti-Human Trafficking unit of the Detective Department raided the place on Friday night and found a brothel was being run at the said premises.

During a search, the police apprehended five persons including two pimps, two customers and the manager of the spa. Later, the police came to know that the manager was the mastermind behind the sex racket. Later, a case was initiated at the Taltala police station.

Earlier, on Tuesday night, eight persons were arrested for running a sex racket at 'The Thai Retreat'. Police raided the spa located at 56 Sarat Bose Road in Ballygunge area and found two customers in compromising position with two girls.

During the raid, police found two girls from Thailand who were brought there as sex workers. It is alleged that a businessman who went to Thailand earlier proposed the Thai girls who used to work in a spa to come to Kolkata and work here. Police are maintaining a strict vigil across the city in order to find out if any flesh trade is going on in the name of running spas or beauty parlours.
