Swapno Bhor to play host to 3-day fair from September 1

Kolkata: Swapno Bhor, the only senior citizen's park in Bengal along with Dignity Foundation will organise a three-day fair at New Town from September 1.
Sabyasachi Dutta, Mayor of Bidhanagar Municipal Corporation along with Debashis Sen, chairman of Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO)and noted dancer Amita Dutta will be present at the inaugural function at 2 pm on Friday. The fair will be held from 12 noon to 7 pm at the Swapno Bhor complex. The fair will be the first-of-its-kind at Swapno Bhor.
There will be around 40 stalls. One of the unique features of the fair is that there will be a stall selling gadgets that will be useful for senior citizens like walking sticks, magnifying glasses etc. There will be a stall on books as well as stalls selling designer saris, costume jewellery, Kurtis, dupattas, skirts, handicrafts, forest products like honey, items for room decoration etc. There will also be food stalls by Café Ekante and others.
Swapno Bhor ,the only park exclusively for senior citizens in Bengal stands at a four acre land. There is a sprawling lawn and a two-storeyed building that houses a library, two banquet halls and a coffee shop.
Swapno Bhor regularly organises functions for senior citizens like talk shows by eminent people, cultural programmes and book launches. The members of Swapno Bhor are taken out for excursions. There is great enthusiasm among the members about the pre-puja fair. The USP of Swapno Bhor is its cleanliness.
