Sukumar Banerjee passes away at 95

Kolkata: Former state BJP president Sukumar Banerjee died at a city nursing home on Friday.
Banerjee (95) was suffering from age-related ailments for quite some time.
He was state BJP president twice, from 1986 to 1991 and from 2006 to 2008. Banerjee will be remembered for his cordial relation with people across party lines and his simplicity. His mortal remains were brought to the state BJP headquarters on Muralidhar Sen Lane, where party leaders paid their last respects and then taken to state RSS headquarters Keshav Bhavan and Keshav Samity Bhavan in Howrah.
