Suicide attempt over family dispute

Kolkata: Tension cropped up at Jibantala in South 24-Parganas after a person was reportedly shot at his home. Later, it was found that he tried to commit suicide by shooting himself over a family dispute.

On Monday night, the person was talking over his phone standing in front of his house. Around 9 pm, locals heard a gunshot. They found that a person was lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a local hospital and later he was shifted to SSKM Hospital.

Police found several ambiguities and were in doubt about involvement of any other person. On Tuesday, the injured youth admitted that he had tried to commit suicide by shooting himself due to a family dispute over his two wives.

Later, the police came to know that his first wife left him seven months ago and is staying with her three children at with her parents. But she expressed her willingness to return on condition that her husband will have to leave the second wife.

Amidst the situation, the injured youth was going through a depression and thus he tried to commit suicide. .
