Students' poll at Rabindra Bharati University on Dec 2

Kolkata: Student elections at Rabindra Bharati University (RBU) will be held on December 2 following the student union model. The university has fixed November 18, 19 and 20 for filing of nominations and submission on the part of students who wants to contest the elections.

" We will be holding the elections in the same format that was followed last time when the polls were held in the university. The details related to elections have already been notified to the students, " said Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury, Vice Chancellor of RBU. The total number of voters in the university is 5527. The last elections I n RBU was held in November 2016.

It may be mentioned that the state Higher Education department issued a notification on September 17 , allowing four universities including RBU to hold elections to the students' union or council as they deem fit.

Presidency University has already announced November 14 date for holding students' council election.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board notified that the online application for registration in WBJEE 2020 will end on Wednesday (November 13). The details are available in the Board's website www.wbjeeb.nic.in and www.wbjeeb.in .

The WBJEE examination will be held on February 2 for admission into undergraduate courses of engineering , pharmacy and architecture in various institutions of West Bengal in the year 2020.
