State sees major reshuffle in IPS cadre

Kolkata: In a major reshuffle of IPS officers in the state, Superintendent of Police (SP), Hooghly (rural) has been changed. 19 more IPS officers' postings have been changed as well.

According to the order published on Thursday, SP, Hooghly (rural) Sukhendu Hira has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Reserve Force (RF) in Kolkata Police. Tathagata Basu, who was the DC (headquarters) in Chandannagar Police Commissionerate, will replace Hira.

Sanjay Chander, Director General (DG) of Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) has been made the DG Establishment, while Siddh Nath Gupta, who was the Additional Director General (ADG) Establishment, has been transferred to the post of ADG, CIF. Vishal Garg, Inspector General (IG), Presidency Range, has been made the IG, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) II. Meanwhile, Kallol Ganai, IG, Burdwan Range, has been made the IG, Traffic in West Bengal Police. Tanmay Ray Chaudhuri, who was the Deputy Director, Directorate of Economic Offences, has been transferred to the post of DIG, Burdwan Range.
