State sees IPS reshuffle, DEO gets post of Dy Director

Kolkata: To deal with the 'cut money' issue, the state government has created a new post in the Directorate of Economic Offences. According to sources, till Monday Director was the only senior official in the department.

On Tuesday, the post of Deputy Director has been created and former Commissioner of Police (CP), Barrackpore, Tanmay Ray Chaudhuri has been posted there.

Meanwhile, seven IPS

officers have been reshuffled on Tuesday, including Chau-

dhuri.

He was earlier transferred to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) (Operations), from CP Barrackpore.

On Tuesday, he has been made the Deputy Director in the Directorate of Economic Offences.

Nishat Pervez, who was earlier posted as the DIG, Burdwan Range from DIG, CID (Operations), has been asked to continue in CID.

Kallol Ganai, who was transferred to the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP), CID II, has been

asked to continue at his earlier posting of IGP, Burdwan Range.

ADG & IGP, Training, Soumen Mitra will now hold additional charge of ADG & IGP, Operations, while ADG, Traffic II Peeyush Pandey has been posted as ADG, SCRB.

Meanwhile, Officer on Compulsory Waiting, West Bengal Police Directorate Y Raghuvamshi has been posted as DC, Traffic, Howrah Police Commissionerate, whereas SP, WBHRC Ujjwal Kumar Bhowmik has been posted as Commandant, Eastern Frontier Rifles, 1st Battalion.
