State government to give ad-hoc bonus, ex-gratia to employees

Kolkata: The state government has decided to give ad-hoc bonus and ex-gratia to its employees.
The disbursement of ad-hoc bonus would be made in case of the employees from the Muslim community by June 8, that is before Id-Ul-Fitre. The same for other employees would be made from September 26 and October 5, that is ahead of Durga Puja.
According to an official of the state Finance department, the employees may be allowed to draw an ex-gratia grant of Rs 3,800, provided their revised emoluments as of March 31 did not exceed Rs 28,000 per month. It may be mentioned that the state government has increased the limit of the ex-gratia grant by Rs 200, compared to that of the last year. At the same time, recoverable advance of the maximum limit of Rs 6,000 may be sanctioned to the employees of public undertakings or statutory bodies, whose revised emoluments fall between Rs 28,000 and Rs 36,000 per month, as of March 31. It will also be considered if advance paid last year has been recovered in full.
The recoverable advance of maximum limit has also been increased by Rs 1,000, compared to that of the previous year. Employees of the state government have expressed their happiness with the announcement of the ad-hoc bonus and ex-gratia. It may be mentioned that the state government takes several steps for the betterment of its employees and it has also been ensured that they get the ad-hoc bonus or the ex-gratia ahead of the festivals.
Meanwhile, results for Group D recruitment are expected to be out in the beginning of June. The examination was held in May 2017, with the interview part of the recruitment process held from October 2017. Around 20.88 lakh job aspirants had appeared for the examination.
