State Finance dept to host development programme for 20 in-service officers

Kolkata: The state Finance department is going to organise Management Development Programme (MDP) for a batch of 20 in-service officers of the West Bengal Audit & Accounts Service (WBA&AS) and West Bengal Revenue Service from August 26-31 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta. The programme will focus on several aspects like contract administration, public finances, e-governance, business process re-engineering, time management as well as management of personnel.

"The training will cover all aspects to sensitise and inform the participants about various issues which are essential for better decision-making," a senior official of the state Finance department said.

The officers who have rendered a minimum five years of service as on January 1, 2019, and have been declared confirmed in their respective cadre are eligible to apply. The officers who have earlier undergone residential in-service training programme organised by the Finance department for seven days will not be eligible to apply. The WBA&AS officers working in the financial advisor set up, public sector undertakings, development authorities, corporations and statutory bodies will be given preference in the MDP.

The programme will be fully residential and officers will have to report at IIM one day prior to the training programme on August 25 afternoon. No officers will be allowed to leave the training venue during the programme.
