Spencer's 'Saraswati Ayojan' to relieve Bengalis from shopping hassles

Kolkata: If you are trying to avoid the rush of buyers in markets or shopping malls ahead of Saraswati Puja, there is good news for you.
Spencer's has come up with an unique service where a special pack containing the grocery and other items required for Saraswati Puja would be delivered at your doorsteps.
To meet the traditional needs of the Bengalis organising Saraswati puja at their homes or elsewhere, Spencer's has prepared a special package costing Rs 120 each. The new initiative has been termed as "Saraswati Ayojan".
Apart from online booking, the customers can also buy this special pack from any of its 25 outlets in the city. The special pack comprises nine items such as dal, spinach with buds and flower (sish palang), white seem, sweet potato, small brinjal, baby potato, green peas, garlic leaf and French beans.
On the day of Saraswati Puja, in many households, there is a tradition of cooking a healthy concoction of uncut vegetables, the serving being called 'Gota Sidhha', which is consumed on the very next day of the puja. The special attraction from Spencer's this year is a bag containing all the 'Gota Sidhha' ingredients at a price of Rs 120.
Those who are willing to buy the products online, need to visit www.spencers.in to place their order. Once the order is placed, the customers can get the products at their doorstep, for which they would not be required to pay any extra amount.
The special pack for Saraswati Puja will be available at all outlets of Spencer's in the city from Friday to Monday.
Another best selling item is Kul. There will be innumerable varieties of Narkel Kul and Topa Kul on offer. Spencer's outlets will have on display several varieties collected from different parts of the country. Topa Kul, a sour version, is also used for making pickles and chutneys which are available at Spencer's ~ Sweet, Sour and Hot.
Speaking on this occasion, Kaushik Ganguly, Head of Operations, East, Spencer's Retail, said: "This is for the first time Spencer's has come up with this idea of 'Saraswati Ayojan' to cater to more customers. We are also planning to come up with more exciting offers at a cheaper rate."
