South Dinajpur DM holds meeting to ensure glitch-free work process

BALURGHAT: District magistrate of South Dinajpur Nikhil Nirmal on Tuesday conducted a high-level meeting with member conveners of all Sthayee Samities of Zilla Parishad at his chamber of the district administrative building,

to discuss vital issues and gear up its work process to be smooth and glitch-free, as per instructions of the state government.

According to sources, Nirmal has already reviewed the status of Sthayee Samity-wise meeting during 2018-19 and 2019-20. During the review, it was noted that no meeting has been conducted under Bon O Bhumi Sanskar Sthayee

Samity, Khudra Shilpa Bidyut O Achiracharit Shakti Sthayee Samity and Jana Swasthya O Paribesh Sthayee Samity during 2019-20.

The member conveners of these three Samities who were present in the meeting, were instructed to convene the meeting of their respective Sthayee Samities with all

members within the next 15 days.

Nirmal said that district controller, Food & Supplies department, South Dinajpur, was separately instructed to convene meeting with the members of his Sthayee Samity within the next 15 days and a similar meeting will have to be convened at Panchayat Samity level by the concerned inspector, Food & Supplies department, to discuss the ongoing paddy procurement at different places covering each block of the district.

A source said that the District Magistrate has also instructed all member conveners to hold meeting on a regular basis and inform the public representatives as and when required.

"I have instructed the member conveners of all Sthayee Samities of Zilla Parishad to convene meeting regularly, for discussion on issues related to the public. The meeting

was held after receiving objection from the public representatives that no regular meeting has been convened at the Sthayee Samities recently," said Nirmal.
