Soon, road to connect Tarapith with Gopalpur More

Kolkata: Tarapith Rampurhat Development Authority (TRDA) has taken up a major step to construct a road that will ensure a direct connectivity with Tarapith from Gopalpur More.

The step has been taken up to ensure that people can reach the place without facing any traffic congestion and it would take them lesser time as well.

This comes at the time when a series of projects have been taken up for development of Tarapith, where thousands of devotees visit every day.

The road, that will connect Gopalpur More and Tarapith, will be passing through Dekhuria. With completion of the construction of the road, both people from all the adjacent places and tourists from far off places can take the same to reach the temple at the shortest time.

A bridge will also be constructed on river Dwarka and the vehicles taking the new road from Gopalpur More will be passing through it to reach the temple. The TRDA will be approaching the concerned department for construction of the bridge.

Besides constructing the road that will establish a direct connection from Gopalpur More to Tarapith, the development authority has also taken initiative to establish direct connectivity from Rampurhat Station to Tarapith.

The road will ensure direct connectivity, bypassing the town. As a result, tourists will not have to pass through the busy road in the town, to reach Tarapith.

Chairman of TRDA Asish Banerjee, who is also the state Agriculture minister, said: "The steps have been taken to ensure better connectivity to Tarapith, where thousands of people visit every day. It will help people reach the place without facing any inconvenience."

Already, a series of initiatives have been taken up to ensure an overall development of the place. A facelift has also been given to the area around the temple, with development projects taken up by the development authority.

Moreover, TRDA is also constructing a ghat on the

bank of river Dwarka and it has been named as Biswa Bangla Ghat.

It may be mentioned that at the same time, a major project has also taken up to set up replicas of 51 peeth on a large area near Tarapith. The work in this connection has also proceeded to a certain limit and it includes necessary clearance from concerned authorities.

TRDA is going to complete its three years in 2018 itself and there will be a programme for the same. A book containing details of the projects taken up by the development authority in the past three years will also be released.

The book will also be containing details of the ongoing projects and the future projects that have already been
