Soon, panchayat app to give feedback

Kolkata: The state Panchayat and Rural Development department is going to introduce a mobile phone app to help people communicate any sort of information related to development works that are being carried out by the Mamata Banerjee-government.
It is learnt that the app will be named as "Panchayat Pratikar".
It may be mentioned that with an overall development in the districts in the past six years, most people are now having smart phones. So the app will be helpful for a large section of people as they can communicate with the state government from their houses itself.
There will also be a toll free number 1800-200-0864 using which, one can also inform their grievances, if any, to the concerned officials. At the same time, any sort of complaints or grievances can be sent through SMSs as well.
After receiving the grievances, the matter will be sorted out properly to ensure an overall development for common people.
At the same time, there will be three-member-committees to look into the grievances and there will also be a dedicated officer to deal with it. The committees will be functioning in block, zilla and state levels.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed all departments to complete most of the ongoing projects by the end of this year. Senior officials of all the departments have also taken necessary steps to expedite the work to ensure timely completion.
The state Panchayat and Rural Development department is also carrying out massive development work in almost all the districts and in such a time, introduction of the app will also be helpful to concerned officials as it will help them to get direct feedback from people.
So, it will help in proper implementation of all
works and necessary measures would also be taken immediately if there is any fault, an official said.
