Smriti Irani visits Kolkata

Kolkata: BJP leaders and workers have always sacrificed their lives to uphold democracy since the days of Janasangha, Smriti Irani, minister for Information and Broadcasting said on Friday evening.
She alleged that BJP party workers and leaders are being beaten up in Bengal and party candidates are not allowed to file nomination in different districts. "It is very unfortunate. Trinamool Congress has unleashed a reign of terror and there is murder of democracy in Bengal," she said. She said Trinamool Congress has become scared of BJP and that is why the party has resorted to violence. "The democratic rights of the opposition parties have been taken. But the people of Bengal will not tolerate this for a long time and they will oust Trinamool Congress," she said adding: "Trinamool has destroyed the institutions and police officers are functioning like Trinamool workers."
