Skill deal for start-up boost

Kolkata: State of Science and Technology and Biotechnology department signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) in order to introduce two new courses which will help to develop skills for the entrepreneurs who want to come up with new start ups.

On Wednesday afternoon, at Vigyan Chetana Bhavan, in Salt Lake, principal secretary to the Science and Technology and Biotechnology department Sayeed Ahmed Baba and Registrar of MAKAUT Partha Pratim Lahiri signed two MoU in presence of minister Bratya Basu. According to the MoU, the two courses are M.Tech on Geoinformetics and Post Graduate (PG) Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Business Management.

According to the scientists, the course on Geoinformetics will help the students to get more jobs Also the PG diploma course on Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Business Management will help the entrepreneurs to handle the critical issues of technology business management using the intellectual property rights as a tool for an organization or start ups which they are running.

"The diploma course will help the entrepreneurs to become self dependent using the intellectual property rights. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants the talent of Bengal to stay here and our aim is to create opportunities," said Basu.
