Shoe factory guard found dead in Topsia

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a septuagenarian security guard inside a shoe factory at Topsia Road under Tiljala police station area. The deceased, Golam Rasul, is a resident of Bihar and has been working with the factory for the past seven years.
Sources said that the owner of the factory spotted the body of the deceased with blood stains on his clothes, when he entered the premises early in the morning. There were some injury marks on the face of the victim. "We are not ruling out murder. Post-mortem will ascertain the real cause of death," a senior official of Tijlala police station said.
A team from the homicide section of the detective department of Kolkata Police and sniffer dogs were pressed into service. "Prima facie it appears to be a case of murder. We are exploring all angles," an official of the detective department said. Police have seized the mobile phone of the victim and is questioning the owner of the unit for further leads in the case.
He used to stay in the factory round the clock and during night he would lock the gate from inside. However, when on Monday morning the factory owner went in, he found the door ajar and found Rasul lying motionless on the ground adjacent to his bed.
The investigators, however, have not found proof of any forcible entry into the factory.
